The World Is Full Of People

The World Is Full Of People

Good And Bad
But The Bad Are Not Always As Bad As They Seem
But The Good Don’t Always Take The Time To See
That Even The Worst People Can Have The Biggest Hearts
Everyone Will Judge At Moments Notice
Even If You Cant Help It
But I Figure Even The Good People
Have Bad Moments When They Don’t Stop To Really Look At The Person Before Them
Judging To Fast And JUdging To Harshly Can Put You In A World You Didn’t Know existed.
-Ashton Marie
Im Thankful For The Sun Rising, And The Stars That Shine So Bright
Im Thankful For Your dazzling Smile, And How We Never Fight

I Know You You May Not Know This But I Really Do Care

So i’m Going To Go Before I Get Worse Or My Rebellious Mood Turns

Just Because Were Different Doesn’t Mean We Cant Be Similar Too
I Can See It In Your Eyes That You Cant Stand It
To See Me With Another
But You’r The Pain Who Left So You Can Deal With My Big Brother

Have A Good Life And If You Don’t Make It To Heaven I Will See You In Hell
-Ashton Marie
When You Left You Took A Piece Of My Heart
The Part That I Will Always Miss
This Empty And Lonely Feeling I Wouldn’t Wish upon Anyone
I Cant Stand knowing I Love Someone Whom Dose Not Love Me
But My Life Just Keeps Going And Going
This Feeling Makes Me Cry And Even Want To Die
Sometimes I Wish I Could Grow Wings And Fly
Away To The Mountains And Away From The Pain
Its Where The Skies Are Blue
And The Grass Is Green
There Is Peace And I Can Dream
I Will Forget My Broken Heart
And Sleep Now As quietly As The Dead
-Ashton Marie
When I See The Stars They Remind Me Of Your Eyes Not Exactly A Shimmer But A Shine
When I Hear Your Voice Its Like Bells But Only Instead Of Ringing They Chime
The Curve Of Your Lip So Delicate And Sweet
And They Way You Smell To Me Is A Treat
I Cant Completely Explain Why Or How I Fell
But I Do Know What I Feel Is Real
I Know That Its Complicated And Sometimes Its Not Fair
But If I Try To Like Someone Else Well My Heart It Would Tear
I Always Think About You Its You On My Mind
Its You Id Spend My Life With Yes Until The End Of Time

To each their own

To each their own
A selection of poetry
By Michelle Dalton

Date: 3-22-09

Every life has a story…this is mine.

First of all, this book goes deeper than standard poetry. These words are my soul filling out onto this page. This is the free spirit in me. The thoughts, the minds, and yes even the moments are written in this book. I have poured every emotion, every thought, and every heartache and I’m ready to share it with the world.
This is a book I dedicate to the free spirits like me. I ask you to enjoy my life. I ask you to embark on a journey of confusion, hate, spite, indecision, and love. I’m ready to expose myself to the world.
One last dedication I have is to the person who inspired me to make this book. He was my first love and my first heartbreak and changed my perception of life, as I know it.
Thanks for the wake up call.
Enjoy!

Men

The beauty of men,
Is like the beauty,
Of a flower.
Everything looks beautiful,
The scent is intoxicating,
Bringing a fresh feel,
Into a dull surface.
But flowers die,
They lose their scent,
And leave a mess
For the other to clean.

Less

Thoughtless,
A person with out thought,
Dreamless,
A person without dreams,
Forced to go place to place,
Without a soul?
WHAT IS A SOUL?
Souls are spirits,
Lost in the abyss,
Souls simply don’t exist.
Young girls dreams,
Are simply dreamless,
Blank like unused canvasses.
Just like her thoughts.
As for her soul,
It doesn’t exist.
Everyone lives his or her life like this.
Dark, depressing, filled with dread.
Even writing this causes pain,
SQUEAK, SQUEAK, SQUEAK!

Simply quiet

The house is quiet now,
No stirs to be heard tonight,
Peace is not here,
Just quiet now.
No doors slamming,
No dirt poured out,
On the love stained floor.
Just that spot,
That empty spot that’s black,
Laughing at me in the night,
Choosing to leave me breathless,
Leave this hole again,
Just like the night before.
Lay face down into it,
Rub my face in the past,
And the never agains,
Breaking every part of me.
I’m already limp,
Worse than a wet noodle,
Just keep reminding me,
Of why freedom isn’t free.
But I can’t make a sound,
Even if I wanted to,
Because the memories,
Swallow my screams of regret.

Men are dead

As far as I’m concerned,
Men are dead,
They tear your dreams apart,
Leave you alone,
All alone.
Men are dead.
They find your weakness,
They leave you exposed,
And when you find the one,
Who brings you a home?
You’re still alone.
Men are dead.
Dearly beloved,
We gather here,
To say goodbye,
Out of growing near.
To all the men, Who let me die?
But never fear, because men are dead.

Boy…girl

Girl,
Color yourself hypocrite,
“I hate men!!!”
Crying it out to ears,
That honestly doesn’t care.
Gushing about a new man,
When you’re not even done with the old.
Boy,color yourself hypocrite,
Show her off around town,
Like she’s not going to break your heart.
You missed out on a good thing,
And now your so-called happy?
You all make me sick.
Ghetto dance
Tiny dancer, tiny dancer,
Please shake that booty!
Surprised I said that,
Get use to that.
I am g-e-t-t-o-e fabulous….
That’s right with an e,
Sorry but that’s just me.

Believe

Ring in the bells,
A new year has begun,
Shout a chorus of hallelujahs,
Sing a bit of amen.
“AMEN!” you scream,
Louder each time,
How loud does it have to be?
Till your so-called God hears your praise.
You’re all dogs to me,
Following your master,
Begging for a treat,
All for a good boy.
How many times did you roll over?
Read a book written by a man,
Beg and plead for hypocrisy,
How sad can you be?
The only thing you can believe in is yourself.
Slang, would Shakespeare giggle?
If he heard our slang?
A foreign language,
Like his greatest works?
If thee equals thou,
And you equals aye,
Why do we say,
Past slang is whack?
They mold the language,
Tell us what’s what,
If it wasn’t for them,
The forefathers of our past,
We wouldn’t know the beauty,
Of our crude language system,
And life would be lame.
Ah…. sweet bliss…why would I be writing this?
Poor Shakespeare can’t handle such a realist.

Offensive

So you want something original,
How about fuck you?
Oh so your offended now?
I’m sorry that you’re sensitive,
Waiting for your dream boy,
To scoop you away,
So you can cook his hot pocket,
Into your toaster oven,
And turn your life around,
Into a suburban wasteland?
Is that what it’s like,
To be an American,
Conservative living the dream.
Thank god for liberals,
May we continue to offend?
With one fuck you at a time.

Yea we’re crazy

“God you’re so beautiful.”
GOD YOU’RE SO FAKE,
Try to twist me up,
In your satin and lace,
While she sits at home,
By the phone,
And all the while I wait.
Toy with my emotions,
Do you think that’s all it takes?
Am I really that predictable?
Well its time for a change,
Pick your choice B or A,
Because if you play this game,
Then I’ll go insane.
They don’t call me crazy for nothing.

A kiss

A kiss,
A kiss,
Sweet,
Tender,
Kiss,
Tears to my eyes,
Not a normal kiss,
Everything that I have wished,
All held up,
Within a kiss.

Giddy Girl

Giddy girl, giddy girl,
How you smile,
By a touch,
By a word,
By a thought,
Of the one you love.
Your so crazy giddy girl,
Just don’t let it all,
Go to your head.

New skin, old crutch

Feeling like a peasant among men,
Despair drips like a melting Popsicle,
Every time I work my way up,
You bring me back down again.
I wear my scars like a banner,
Why bother hiding the sadness,
There’s no point in smiling,
As long as you’re in my life.
I can’t have you back,
You’re too involved in new skin,
I feel the pain every day,
Moving on feels like a chore.
Although I love someone else,
I still can never stop loving you,
So I’ll lock myself in my ivory tower,
And brush my long hair again.

Girl...girl...girl

Girl girl girl,
Color yourself hypocrite,
Cause everything you say and do,
Only seem to sound like shit.
Girl, girl, girl,
You might as well just leave the world,
Stupid girl,
Stupid girl!
Everything you ever wanted,
Was in front of you,
And you destroyed it,
Again,
And again,
AND AGAIN!
Attempt to make the best of it.

Oleander
Slight cigarette buzz,
Lifts from my head,
As I read stories,
Of a past life.
Pain, love, trust,
All flooding away,
Like dandelion seeds,
On a windy day.
I cannot relate,
To the pain,
The regret,
Or the remorse.
But simply beautiful words,
Leave her pen,
As she writes about pain,
Pain can be beautiful.
Exquisite pain can be sheer bliss.
(Dedicated to the author of my favorite book)

Pretty Girl

Pretty girl,
They drop over you like flies,
But in your eyes,
They cannot see your life.
They watch your every move,
You give um a wink,
Maybe a bit of love,
But you’re not that type of girl.
Don’t keep them for the night,
But you’re ok,
And that’s all right,
Your girlfriends can have the fun tonight.

Things are not always what they seem,
So adding to the gleam,
Can you tell what’s in between?

Pepper Ann

Your name says pepper Ann,
But I don’t see red hair,
All I see are dark features,
And dark eyes.
Oh pepper Ann,
You see a box,
As a way of survival.
Serve it to me with a little salsa.

Chat life

A bottle of liquor in one hand,
Shades on the eyes,
Bet your imagining your tongue,
In-between my thighs.
Little miss innocent,
Sarcasm is your tone,
Do you really know?
If your man is all-alone?
People come into your life,
As quick as they go,
All you can do, Is telling whom you know.

Idiotic moments

Oh honey,
You tell me,
“Don’t judge a book,
By its cover.”
But how will I be able,
To tell the book,
I’m reading?
Didn’t your mother,
Ever tell you,
Think before you speak?

The battle

I’m so sick,
Of this life I lead,
Depression has engulfed me,
Like a salmon swimming upstream.
I’ve loved everyone I trusted,
But trust comes with a price,
Things that brought me joy,
Simply makes me think.
So what if I win,
One round in the game of life,
And what everyone seems to miss,
Is that life is a battle! And I’m only 21.

To the free spirits
Free spirits,
Wild and untamed,
To be truly open,
To be free.
Being free,
Is harder,
Than being yourself.
But why does everyone say,
To be yourself,
Is to be free? Those people are hypocrites!

Legend
(Dedicated to Jim Morrison)

Red crimson,
Faded in a twist,
Of light and dark,
Heart skips a beat.
Insanity breaks the silence,
Into polyester and liquor,
Smoke and crying,
Heart skips a beat.
Poetry and love,
When the music’s over,
Someone’s lost,
Heart skips a beat. A legend dies…. and is born again.

Never forget who you are

Cascade of black and white,
A jailed man set free,
Bright lights, big city,
Drink till ya die.
Live the life I lead,
Party like a rock star,
Fall in love again,
Never forget who you are.

Never forget who you are,
Never forget who you are,
Live your life hard,
Love like your dying,
But never forget who you are.

My honest mistake

I felt love once,
And I continue to feel,
Something inside of me,
Something so real.
My heart belongs to one,
But after some time,
I met someone else,
I call him douche bag diving.
Somehow deep in my heart,
There’s has always been a part,
That always seemed to love him,
But ended at the start.
I shouldn’t have ended it early,
He was no part in my heart,
Yet something inside of me,
Says he still loves me from the start.
The man I flirted with so much,
When I thought I was in love,
The man who told me to get out,
Before it was too much.
It took such a long time,
To realize what I would lose,
I gave my whole heart to douche bag divine,
When I should have given it to you.

Typical workweek

Try to do the right thing,
Can’t get short,
Yet refuses to say no,
Forget the world you think you know.
I try to prove my worth,
Bending with a jerk,
Only to get screwed in the end.
I’m dammed if I do, and I’m dammed if I don’t,
Too hard to give up,
Too soft to let go.
I guess no one will ever know.

Maybe I’m the one, who’s slow,
Two years ago,
I planned to grow,
Went with the pace,
Go with the flow.
Did the job right,
Did the job wrong,
Give them a dance,
Sing them a song,
If this keeps up,
I’m gone!

First class
(Note: I have included a picture for the first and last first class in this poem. I actually used one of these stampers when I wrote this poem and I would like to keep it the same. I will atisk every first class I want the stamp. Thanks! )

First class*
Same people rise up
My ass.
May be a blast,
From the mofoin past,
But you use it,
Like a condom,
Just cause of the area,
That I come from.
I’ve learned a thing or two,
You think you’ve got me,
Well I think I’ve got you.
Same people rise up my ass,
No chance,
Cause I’m first class*
Let me explore you
Journey to the unknown,
You’re my first this time,
Everything about you,
Doesn’t seem to rhythm.
Your beauty is unexplainable,
Because you’re like a portrait,
Everything is out there,
But simply unexplained.
You’re the artist,
Explain why you’re so beautiful,
Why did you choose this look?
That drives me wild.
Baby, you’ve got it all,
(And with perfect taste)
You’re still a mystery…
But that’s the funny thing about mysteries…
The best mysteries are always the solved ones.
Bring it love!
My blessing…my curse

You all go down the same,
Same face,
Same eyes,
Same name.
And every time I claim,
I’m drained,
Insane,
And looking for someone to blame.
But it’s my fault,
The issue is I,
I can never say no,
Feels like there’s no where to go,
I can never be free.
I’m an idiot to my own accord.
I only do this to myself.
I know I’m a sinner going to hell…
But you’re all my escape,
Same face,
Same eyes,
Same name.
I can’t fall in love,
To many options,
To many temptations,
Too many too’s!
I’m so screwed.
Love hurts,
Debt hurts worse,
What is my blessing? Is also my curse.

Broken (part 1)

I’m so sick,
Of all the couple’s I see,
Wishing that could be me.
I’m tired,
Of waiting on men,
Who screw me over again and again?
I can barely afford gas in my car,
The life that I lead is just a shard….
I’m just a little piece of glass.
Just a little piece of glass.
All the friends I trust and depend on,
Are lying,
Crying,
And dying all around me….
Am I meant to be alone?
I found a good man once upon a time,
But all I did was hurt and lie,
So I am meant to be alone.
I keep the smile on my face,
And attempt to push through the dust,
But even when I keep good karma,
Everything seems to go bust!!!!!!
And here I am,
Just a shard of glass, A little piece of glass, Broken

Broken (part 2)

SO BREAK ME!
But I can only be broken so small,
And only I know that,
SO CALL ME CRAZY!
I can’t stand the hammer anymore,
Pound on me when I hit the floor,
I may be just a shard of glass,
But watch your little ass,
Cause a little piece of glass,
Holds deadly consequence,
In the wrong hands.

Miserably happy

You manage to walk back in,
Despite all of my sins,
I asked you the ultimate question,
You managed to ignore.
But my eyes told the truth,
The words you couldn’t say,
Was shown in your face,
I exhaust you.
You don’t know what you want,
And I don’t like what you need,
I can’t just be your ho,
And I’m scared to be your girl.
Teeter on the thin line,
Casual is not the issue anymore,
I just want you to be happy,
Maybe you’re happy being miserable.

Exhausted

Caring is my calling,
Find salvation in god,
Call up an ex-lover,
When your old mans gone.
I’ve failed the tests,
Job is much stronger than I,
Make two dollars a night,
Don’t be a stripper.
Wasted yet whittled,
Worn yet torn,
Like the canvas at the art fair,
The shirt at the thrift store.
I’ve insulted many,
Loved by the few,
The ones who love me,
Never turned away.
Vomit at my door,
My toilet’s already full.
Rewards

Little child so fair,
What have you got over there?
Take a look,
In a book,
From the library you took,
And at the book you stare.
Little child so dear,
Your eyes full of fear,
So you don’t understand,
I’ll take you by the hand,
And keep you very near.
Little child so happy,
Makes my young heart feel sappy,
To help you excel,
Makes me feel well,
In a world that can feel so crappy.

My heart is a cold stone

My heart is a cold stone,
Unable to be penetrated,
By the love that you beg,
Yet you don’t plead.
My heart is a cold stone,
You cannot open it,
Once upon a time,
Was long long ago.
My heart is a cold stone,
Yet you continue to love,
Your love’s wasting away,
Love someone else…
Who’s not a cold stone?
My heart’s an open wound,
To someone who loves,
Someone who proves,
Someone unconventional.
But to you…
My heart is a cold stone.

Just another love poem (exposed)

I just want to help,
My dedication,
My talents,
My soul.
My chi is my belief,
My god may be yours.
Can I be your romantic?
I am your love…
But I am who I am.
Soft,
Delicate,
Lace,
Drapes around me,
Under the armor I wear.
I find you beautiful,
I can be your Roselyn,
Just don’t be my Romeo.
Be my author,
 Be my prince,
Be my warrior,
Be my knight,
But please be yourself.
I’ll give you my whole heart,
Let you see the chiffon,
Set the armor aside.
I want you to see me exposed.

Locking the door

Everything you say to me,
Is full of fake promises,
You can’t even see,
When your own sister is drowning.
How can you be relatable?
To the people around,
When you’ve never lived like them.
How can you praise,
The glory of god,
Who wants you to care?
When you don’t care,
Just don’t care,
When someone is drowning?
I’m simply not listening anymore,
I’m no longer knocking at the door,
In fact I’m turning away,
And locking the door.
Hallelujah, hosanna,
Jesus saves,
Yes he saved me,
But do his believers see?
I’m so confused,
What does god see in you?
Hallelujah, hosanna,
I just can’t believe.
I’m simply not listening anymore,
I’m no longer knocking,
At the door,
In fact I’m turning away,
And locking the door.

Bunny an Orphans Story
Bunny

An Orphan’s Story

By: Mario Cardarelli

Bunny is an orphan. The nuns raised her as their own daughter. Bunny was only 4 years old, with her hair tied neatly in ponytails. The only friend she has had was her rabbit dolly. It was old and shabby but it never left her side. Bunny liked to think it protected her from all harm. The rabbit dolly went with her everywhere. Tucked tightly in her arms, she never let it go. It would sleep by her side on her pillow at night.

Bunny liked her privacy.  She never cared much about the activities that they played in the orphanage.  She would sit quietly with the nuns and watch the other girls play.  Sister Mary kept her company in her bedroom sometimes with crayons and paper. Bunny loved to draw fun pictures.

The pictures she would draw were from stories she’d heard from the nuns and the other children. She dreams of going on adventures. Bunny loves the park.  She really enjoys when she gets to go there.  She loves the swings.  She could go as high as the trees, almost touching the clouds. She loves the way the wind blows through her hair.  The orphanage is now her new home, where she can learn to make new friends as well as ride her bicycle, the one with the pretty pink and white streamers hanging from the handlebars.  She likes those.

One spring afternoon the nuns decided to take the children out for a walk to the park for some fresh air. Bunny would have to leave her bicycle at the orphanage today. They all walked there together.  After all, it wasn’t that far anyway.

There was a boys’ soccer game going on in the park that day but they all headed for the swing set and slide.  As the game continued the parents all cheered on as their boys got their turn at the ball. Both teams showed outstanding talent. This caught Bunny’s attention.  She looked over to see what all the excitement was about.  She watched as one of the boys scored the winning goal for their team. His name on the back of his jersey was “Danny”. He was a year older than Bunny.  He was also in kindergarten.  He enjoys those trips they go on sometimes to the museum or he pretends he is someone special.

Bunny was a little curious so she asked “Who is that boy over there, Sister?”

“That’s Danny Carlson, he enjoys playing sports,” she replied.

Danny was 5 years old.  When he was not playing soccer he was reading his comics or playing with his action figures.  He would line them up in a row on his bedroom floor and play war. He would pretend he was the General, and command his troops into battle. “Okay, open fire!” he would cry out, and than he would move one of his Jedi knights across to the other side, only to get caught in the fight with a storm trooper. Danny collected all sorts of figures from McDonalds and Wal-Mart.

Not long after, his mom would be at his bedroom door. “Okay General, it’s time for bed.”  Danny looked down at the figures and he knew this war would have to continue tomorrow, after school.

The next morning while Danny was in class, Bunny thought about that day in the park and wondered if that boy, Danny, would be there again today. She drew a picture of the game that took place in the park and placed it on her bedroom wall. Sister Mary would allow it, it would be their own little secret.  No one would have to know.

When Danny got back from school he kissed his mom and ran up to his bedroom to feed his fish and finish the war he started with his figures the day before. Superman would now join forces with the Jedi knights. He would have to be the one to stop this war once and for all. The enemy took them by surprise but Danny gave the order to “Defend the base!” Superman flew in, and said, “Stand down, or you will be defeated.” With his super powers he saved the base. The battle was a success but now all would return to normal. At least until next time.

It was time now for some television before bed. His favorite movie was on:  “Toy Story.”  His mom wouldn’t let him watch the whole thing but he sat quietly on the couch in his pajamas watching it.

Bunny wanted very much to make friends and she thought Danny was a great place to start. They both could use each other as a friend so Sister Mary set up a play date with Danny’s mom the next day. Bunny would go together with Sister Mary to Danny’s home. She would bring her bicycle along and leave her dolly at the orphanage today.

Danny would be on his best behavior when they arrived. Sister Mary had to get back to the other children but would pick up Bunny later on in the day.  In the meantime, they could play in Danny’ s room.  At first, they sat on the floor.

“These are my soldiers,” he said to Bunny, even though not all of them were.

He had Superman. “He saved the base,” he said. Of course, there’s the storm trooper and others as well.

As Danny showed off his room to his new friend, Bunny listened. She was shy at first but found it in her to say “I like the park. I saw you there.”

At that moment Danny’s mom came up to check on the kids.

“Are you guys all right?”

Danny answered back “Yeah, mom.”

“Would you care for something Bunny?” Danny’s mom asked.

“No, thank you Mrs. Carlson” Bunny replied. She liked Danny’s mom.  She was kind and pretty too.

Bunny liked it here but she knew Sister Mary would be here soon to collect her. Danny wanted to play longer but he would see her again another day.

Back at the orphanage, Bunny was glad:  she had finally found a friend. She told all the other children about Danny and her day with him before going to bed. They were all interested in her story. They all sat around Bunny on the bedroom floor in their pajamas listening to her talk about her new friend.

“He plays soccer and his room is filled with toys,” she would say. “He even has goldfish too.”

When Danny’s dad came home from work he couldn’t wait another minute to tell him about his new friend Bunny.

“Dad!” he called out.

“Hey champ,” his dad replied.

“Guess what I did today?”

Danny was so excited he would burst if he didn’t tell him.

“What is it Danny?” his father asked.

“I have a new friend, she’s a girl.  Her name is Bunny!”

Holding up his hand showing his four fingers he said, “She’s four years old.”

“That’s great, champ,” his dad said.

Dad was a busy man but never too busy for Danny.

Mom let dad know at the supper table that Sister Mary had phoned her and wanted to know if she could bring over Bunny to play with Danny today. Mom didn’t see anything wrong with that so they set a time for her to come over.  Danny’s mom told his Dad that Bunny was a shy, dear little girl. They had played up in Danny’s room quietly.  She had had a great time over here with Danny.  It was great that they had become friends with each other.  If not for being in the park that day, Bunny or Danny would not have met. As it turns out they were now the best of friends.

Bunny and Danny mostly saw each other when Danny had a soccer game in the park on a weekend.  Sometimes Bunny would go to Danny’s house. The girls’ orphanage was not a place for little boys although Danny was there once with his mom to pick up Bunny.  The other girls had heard about Danny and had met him that day.

Danny’s mom and dad were willing to adopt Bunny into their family since she was over quite a bit anyway. They all had taken a liking to each other. When Danny heard that Bunny was coming to live with them he was thrilled. He gave his mom and dad a bear hug and said, “Really? You’re the best mom! Thanks Dad.”

In the meantime, Bunny was also looking forward to being welcomed into the Carlson family. Everybody was excited. This would be a wonderful occasion to bring everyone together and complete this friendly household. This was an important day.

The next few days all that Bunny could think about was her new family. She just could not believe there was a place for her in the world where she could belong.

Mr. and Mrs. Carlson and Danny were getting the house in order for a warm welcome for Bunny. It would be perfect.

When the day came for Bunny to move into Danny’s home the orphan had little trouble making a place for herself in the Carlson household. Now she would be able to ride the school bus with Danny and go to the same class as him. Best of all she would see him after school too. He was her big brother now, and he was okay with having her as his little sister.

They would play together and go on small adventures in their bedroom. She liked to pretend she was a princess with a unicorn for a friend.  It would take her places far, far away and back again to her castle, where she lived by herself.    Danny liked being the  General so he pretended to save the princess with his troops from beyond the forest  and  past the trees where she lived with a unicorn. This was his mission.

Sometimes they would play for hours if they had nothing else better to do or if it rained outside. Every now and then they would play outside. If they did not go to the park he would be in his tree house that his dad built for him. This was his quiet spot where they could share secrets and hideout.

She was a little shy around the grown ups at first but mom knew how to fix that. Mom would get her big mixing bowl out and call Bunny into the kitchen. They were going to make chocolate chip cookies.

“This is going to be fun. Want to help me?” mom said.

Bunny leaped off the couch, and ran into the kitchen with a big smile on her face.

“Okay then, you mix” Mom said.

Suddenly Bunny wasn’t bored anymore.

When dad came home from work, he greeted his two favourite girls in the kitchen.

“Wow, chocolate chip!” he said.

Mom answered back “Bunny helped make them.”

“Really.” He was surprised and that was followed by a kiss on Bunny’s cheek. It tickled her but she liked it. Dad reached for a cookie.

Bunny softly said “After dinner.”

She could not call him dad just yet as she felt uncomfortable with it.

“Well, she’s right, you’ll have to wait.” mom replied.

Dad sighed, “Okay, you’re the boss.”

Then he was going to get changed and cleaned up for dinner. As for Danny, he was having too much fun in the tree house. Soon he would have to come in for dinner also.

Later, when they finished up, Bunny had taken herself and her dolly upstairs to her bedroom. It had been a long day and so mom had helped her change into her pajamas and then Bunny sat with mom on the couch watching some television. Dad read his newspaper quietly while Danny lay on the floor with his action figures. His dad had gotten him a new one, Duke from the team G.I. Joe.

By the time the show was over it was time for their bedtime story and than bed.

Mom had made breakfast: Bunny and Danny had cereal, while mom had her coffee. Dad was late for work. He kissed the kids and said “Have a good day at school guys.” As the school bus arrived in front of the house to pick them up they grabbed their lunchboxes and gave mom a kiss goodbye.

“Hold hands” Mom said as they went for the bus.

Mrs. Paige, the kindergarten teacher, had set up a trip today to the library where the librarian would read to the class about Peter Pan, who escapes to Never-Never Land because he does not want to grow up.

“Why do you think he doesn’t want to grow up?” The librarian asks.

Bunny is quick to answer and raises her hand.

“Yes, Bunny?” she asks.

Bunny replies “He likes being a kid.”

The librarian answered back “That’s correct, Bunny. Good for you.”

After getting back to school mom would be there to pick them up. On the way home all Bunny could talk about was the trip to the library and how she knew the answer to the question the librarian asked about Peter Pan.

“That’s great!” Mom said.

Of course she didn’t want to leave Danny out so she added, “How about you, champ?”

“It was okay.” he said as they pulled up to the house. Danny preferred the museum.

Once inside they headed straight for their rooms. Just then there was a knock at the door. It was Sister Mary, come to check on Bunny and how she was fitting in with the Carlsons. As they sat down to talk, mom said, “She’s a great little girl.”

Just then dad’s car pulled up into the driveway. Bunny raced down the stairs.

“Mom, come see!”

She found Sister Mary sitting with her mom. “Dad’s home!”

For the first time and for no reason she had called him dad. This had surprised everyone especially Sister Mary. Bunny had greeted him outside and they came in together.

“Okay young lady, go get your brother and get ready for dinner,” Mom said.

“Well, what was that about?” dad asked.

As Sister Mary left she could see that everything was fine here. As the kids got ready for bed the grownups were talking downstairs in the kitchen. They were talking about the event that happened today when Bunny had called him dad.

“I think she just needed some time,” mom said. “And now, she’s taken a great liking too you,” she added.

That was all very well with dad because he was comfortable with that.

The next day was no school: it was Saturday. Bunny was to go shopping with mom at the mall as she was in need of some new clothes. Perhaps mom would buy her a doll or plenty of books. She liked books more than anything else. In fact, she could make up stories of beautiful things. She liked fairies, unicorns and flowers. She was a child with a great imagination and most of her imaginary stories were comforting to her. They bought many more things which she needed. She was provided for as if she was a princess. Danny would stay home with his dad and play out on the front lawn. They would kick the ball around a little and wait for Bunny and mom to come home. By this time Bunny had become hungry from all that walking around shopping.

Mom asked, “What would you like for dinner?”

Mom did not feel like cooking tonight so they were going to pick something up. Bunny was partial to pizza with lots of pepperoni.

“Sounds good,” mom said.

They ordered a large pizza with pepperoni to take home. Afterwards she had her fruit yogurt on the couch but not before she tried on her new clothes. Mom had bought her some jeans, t-shirts with Tinker bell and Minnie Mouse on them. She also had a new nightgown with the Disney Princesses on it and a pair of running shoes with Dora the Explorer on them. She also had a small silver purse just for herself.

There was one box still left to open. Bunny saved this one for last. It was tall and not that large. When the wrapping paper came off and the box opened standing there in front of Bunny was a large doll. She had beautiful, golden-brown hair with silvery blue eyes that matched her dress. She was a fairy princess, with beautiful pink butterfly wings. She enjoyed the doll so much that she danced around her room like a graceful ballerina on opening night. The enjoyment and exercise brought a brilliant smile and glow to her face.

While Bunny played in her room with her new doll Danny came running up the stairs in excitement the doll suddenly caught his eye.

“Oh, wow! Cool!” he cried out in amazement.

“That’s not for you little man,” Mom said. “I’ve got something else for you,” she added.

As they left Bunny to play by herself they started towards Danny’s room. Danny jumped up on his bed with a great big grin on his face. Mom showed him the bag in her hand and said, “ready?”

“What is it?” he answered back.

She handed him the bag and he leaned forward to take out a toy combat chopper. He didn’t have one but now he would add it to his army.

“New toys, thanks mom,” he said while giving her hugs.

Now that the children could run and play to their hearts content, the grownups could sit back and relax a little themselves. They were getting ready to watch a movie. Dad picked out “Home Alone.” It was a great family movie and one of his favorites. Mom preferred “Casper" or "Stuart Little.” The kids did not much care to see a movie tonight. They had new toys to play with.

Now that Bunny had her new doll, she placed her rabbit dolly on her window ledge where he would stay to watch over her at bedtime. Now she needed a name for her new fairy princess doll. That would have to wait for another day. It was getting late and the movie was almost over. Soon it would be time for bed and the toys would have to be put away.

Tonight’s bedtime story was a wonderful story about a princess who was loved by a prince. He took her away to his castle and they set off on adventures with her beautiful unicorn. Her unicorn had big colourful wings. She could fly so high, with her wings spread out gracefully.

“I would like to be a princess. I wonder what it feels like?” Bunny wondered. “I shall begin to pretend I am one.”

“Okay, princess, it’s late, sleep now,” Mom said.

Danny was too tired for a story and he fell fast asleep.

The next morning Bunny had brought her new doll to breakfast with her.

“Good morning, princess,” mom said.

She sat next to Bunny at the table waiting for her brother to come down.

“Danny, your eggs are getting cold,” mom said.

Just then he came in with his dad. A few minutes more and he would have missed his bus. He was never late for school.

Bunny always stayed near Danny. They would play together in class as well as at home. He would be like her bodyguard.

Every now and then she would like to be alone with her doll. She would talk to it sometimes as if it was a real person. Bunny always longed for someone to take away her loneliness. Now it seemed she was not alone any more. She had a family that would take care of her and she was part of it all. Best of all everyone respected her.

Halloween was just around the corner. Dad would carve the pumpkin and help Danny with his costume. Mom would help Bunny. This was Bunny’s first holiday with the family. Danny was going out as Batman and Bunny was dressed up as Tinkerbell.

Later they would sit in their rooms and wait until dark to go trick or treating. Dad took them both door to door while mom gave out the candy. They went just around the block and back again. It was going to be a great day. They even had the house decorated to look like a castle.

Bunny remembered how different it was when they celebrated Halloween at the orphanage. They never dressed up because they had uniforms and they did not go door to door. The nuns would give out the candy and sometimes the girls would trade some of their candies with the other girls.

By the time they reached home it was already late. There was just enough time to look over what they had brought home. Then it was off to bed. Mom had turned off the porch light.

The next day at school all the kids talked about what they dressed up as last night on Halloween and all the candy.

Mrs. Paige read the children Charlie Brown's "The Great Pumpkin”. They all sat quietly on the floor and paid extra attention to the story and enjoyed the fun pictures. When Mrs. Paige ended the story they would go outside for a bit to play hopscotch or just run around.

After a while Mrs. Paige said, “Okay, time for nap now.”

They all went inside and pulled up a mat and lay down quietly. And when they woke up their parents would be there to pick them up.

On the way home, from school mom thought it would be nice if they stopped for an ice cream. They saw an ice cream truck by the side of the road and they all got out. Danny and Bunny ran for it as mom cried out, “Hold on, wait for me.”

Bunny does not like chocolate but Danny does. Bunny prefers popsicles. she likes the cherry ones better than she likes any others.

When they reached home Bunny and mom headed inside while Danny ran for the tree house, only to find robins had made a nest there. These would be his new neighbors. Danny rushed inside to tell Bunny about the bird’s nest.

Before Bunny entered their lives everyone, including Bunny herself, had different lifestyles. Bunny had only dreamed of a happy family. She knew she was adopted but it did not matter to her because she was happy. They were all pleased she was part of the family now. Danny was the most thrilled because he had a sister to play with.

Bunny lay on the carpet with her coloring book. As Danny came in, he said, “Bunny!” but before he could finish she said almost as if she was mad, “Danny!”

He replied, “What?”

“Careful,” she said.

“Sorry,” he responded. “There’s a nest in the tree house.”

She gave him a contented little smile and went right back to coloring her book. She was not interested to see it right now. Bunny thought it could wait, she would finish her picture here first. She would head out to the tree house after dinner. Mom had cooked fried chicken tonight, Danny’s favorite. Bunny had tried it before but was not too fond of it. Instead, she had eaten a light salad and an apple with her favorite yogurt afterwards. There was no argument about it.

As the slide door opened Bunny stepped outside. Danny was already there waiting for her to join him at the tree house. They could play to their heart's content.

“Look up there,” Danny said.

“Where?” Bunny asked.

Pointing up to a branch with his finger he said “There, see?”

The mother robin sat there singing to her babies. This was yet another sign of a family lifestyle. Bunny thought, those baby robins are like me. They are part of a new family.

Before getting to watch some television they each needed a bath. Bunny would go first. Danny would sometimes bring his action figures into the tub, he would play with them in there. He would splash the water around and pretend they were in trouble and needed rescuing from drowning. Bunny was gentler, she would not play and she would just get washed then get dried off, dressed in her pajamas and her new bathrobe. Mom would blow dry her hair and brush it.

There wasn’t much on television so Danny watched the sports events and Bunny picked out a book from her collection. She let her mom read her, Disney’s “The Little Mermaid.” Even though “The little Mermaid” was not a princess, she was a fun loving girl and goes off on an adventure with her best friend. There was also a prince in the story as well. Bunny could relate to the characters in the story because she was similar to them in many ways. She understood them.

While Danny was watching soccer with his dad bedtime was near at hand. They each gave their mom and dad a kiss and said their goodnights. Then mom would tuck them in and turn on the nightlight in the hallway.

Mom would then head back downstairs. She would clean what was left of the dishes. Mom was exhausted and she would retire for the night. Dad would too. During the night Bunny had woken up because she had dreamt she was a mermaid out of water. Bunny hopped out of bed and showed up at mom’s bedroom door. Mom woke up when she saw Bunny standing there. She was saddened by her dream and felt alone.

“Are you alright, honey.” Mom said.

“I had a dream,” she said sadly.

“Oh, okay,” Mom said.

Mom got out of bed and put on her housecoat and she walked Bunny back to her room. She tucked Bunny back into bed. Mom gave her a kiss on the cheek and said softly, “Goodnight.” When mom made her way to the door, she left it open a bit.

In the morning when Bunny came to breakfast mom asked, “How’s my princess today?”

Bunny replied with a smile, “Thanks, mom.” And that meant she felt great. Mom smiled back and she knew now everything was going to be all right.

Today, she wore her jean skirt with her Tinkerbell top, and Dora sneakers for school. Her backpack had Snow White on it, Danny’s backpack has Hulk on it. He likes his soldiers and most superheroes. In a way, he considers himself one. Even though, Danny is only a year older than Bunny, he looks after her and protects her as a superhero would.

Today at school Mrs. Paige would have the children line up at the door because they were going to the gym. Mrs. Paige thought instead of going outside today they would get their exercise by playing red light, green light. After awhile they stopped and Mrs. Paige called them to sit in a circle in the center of the gym. Now they would play pass the beanbag around. One of the kids would hide it behind his or her back. When the teacher, said “Stop” all of the children would have their hands hidden but one of the kids would guess which other child had the beanbag. If they guessed correctly it was their turn to pass the beanbag.

The afternoon seemed to go by quickly and it was time to get back to class. They all lined up at the door and marched out into the hallway like soldiers straight ahead to the classroom. It was time for some milk and then naptime. While the children lay napping, Mrs. Paige sat at her desk watching over them and preparing for the next day.

When the time came to go home, mom was waiting for Danny and Bunny with the other parents outside the classroom doorway. Each child ran to get their backpacks off their hook at the back of the classroom and they were ready to go home. Mrs. Paige would greet them at the door as they left.

As the school buses pulled away, Bunny and Danny got in the car with mom. They buckled in and they drove away.

At home they sat with their juice boxes. The Flintstones were about to come on - it was the one show they both could agree on. Pebbles was Bunny’s favorite character because other than their age difference they were both adorable children. Danny liked Dino the dinosaur. He thought having a dinosaur for a pet would be cool. Mom would not allow it. Danny respected mom’s wishes and he understood why.

When dad came home they both rushed to him for hugs. Opening his arms wide, he said “Oh, Hey! There they are.”

The reply came back, “Dad!” from both of them. “Mom! Dad’s home!”

Although she knew she answered back, “Okay, let your dad go change. You two go wash up.”

Then she had brought the dinner to the table. When everybody was seated they all folded their hands and with their heads bowed they all said, “Thank you, for the food.”

With that said mom started with Bunny’s plate. Mom had made mashed potatoes, tonight. She knew that Bunny did not care for chicken she would see if she liked spaghetti. Even though Bunny has been a part of the family for a while now, mom still did not know some things about her. In time, she would find out what her interests and experiences are other than being a princess. What mattered most of all was that she was a part of this family. Bunny Carlson was her daughter. Her children are what made mom proud.

After dinner Danny and Bunny were excused from the table and they went out to play at the tree house. As they climbed the tree they noticed that the bird’s nest was still there but the robin was gone. Maybe she would be back later. The tree house was a quiet place for them to play. Danny had crayons so they could draw and comic books to read. Although, they could not read every word they liked looking at the pictures. They also had building blocks. She could see her bedroom window from here. Sitting in the window was her old rabbit dolly. He seemed to say, “I’m lonely here.” She had her new fairy princess doll now but she never brought it outside. She stayed in the house and she did not get it dirty.

Mom called out to Danny and Bunny to come inside. If they wanted mom to read them a story before bed it had to be now. Once they changed into their pajamas, they all rushed to sit on the couch beside mom and listened carefully to the story.

Tonight’s story was an adventure story about a boy who wanted to become a pirate in search of treasure. His name was Alex and he was three years old. He would stay up at night after his mom put him to bed reading his favorite pirate storybook. Of course his mom would always catch him.

“Okay mister, put the book down,” his mom would say.

“Aw Mom, I was just getting to the best part,” Alex said.

There was a short pause and then she said “Oh alright, scoot over.”

As they read together about Captain Screech, every time his name came up they would turn to each other and say, “Oooh!”

After they reached the end of the page his mom said, “Okay, it’s time for this little pirate to get some shut eye.”

She tucked him in and said “goodnight dear.”

And at the same time mom ended the story right there and then. It would continue tomorrow because it was Danny and Bunny’s bedtime too. Bunny already had fallen asleep on mom’s shoulder. She did not want to wake her up. Mom turned to Danny and put the book down. She whispered to him, “Shh, don’t wake your sister.”

Danny got up slowly as if in slow motion and mom scooped up Bunny in her arms. They all headed upstairs to their bedrooms. Dad had gone to sleep a while ago so they had to be quiet. With Bunny in her arms Danny helped pull back the sheets on his sister’s bed for mom.

“Thanks Danny, shhh.” She said.

After mom had tucked in Bunny and gave her a kiss on the cheek goodnight it was now time for Danny to go to sleep. Danny rubbed his tired eyes and said “Goodnight mom.”

She was too tired to answer him and so she blew him a kiss.

The next morning Bunny was up playing on the floor with her princess doll. Mom was downstairs making breakfast. Dad was ready to go to work when he saw Danny wasn’t up yet.

“Excuse me general, your troops are awaiting orders,” Dad said.

This had awakened Danny. “At ease, soldier,” Danny replied as he got out of bed.

“See you downstairs, sir,” Dad said with a smile.

He liked when his dad played army with him. Danny was dressed and got his sister and they both headed downstairs with their backpacks for breakfast. Dad was just leaving for work when they both sat down to scrambled eggs.

Mom said to Bunny, “You really were tired last night weren’t you?”

Before Bunny could answer Danny jumped in and said “Yeah, you passed out on mom’s shoulder.”

“Danny, eat your eggs please.” Mom said.

“Sorry, mom.” Danny answered.

“Well young lady, you're awfully quiet this morning.”

“Oh, I’m okay, it’s Rabbit.” Bunny answered. She was referring to her doll on her bedroom windowsill.

“What about rabbit?” mom asked. She knew what Bunny was talking about because she used to have a dolly too, once.

“He wants to know why I don’t play with him anymore.” Bunny answered.

Rabbit was her protector and best friend. Now he sits atop the bedroom windowsill watching over her.

Mom responded back, “Well you tell him I said he can play with you whenever he wants.”

“Okay,” said Bunny. Her sad face turned quickly to a smile.

As they finished breakfast they got ready for the school bus. They all waited outside together as the bus pulled up to the house. Hugs and kisses were given before getting on the bus. They always sat together. Bunny preferred the window seat.

While the children were at school mom cleaned the house a bit then went to do some grocery shopping. She wondered what she should buy other than spaghetti, yogurt, cereal, bacon and eggs. She would make ham.

When she got home she put the groceries away and then mom did a bit of laundry. Then started dinner afterwards. She still had about an hour left until the kids came home from school. She sat down in her chair and read her book.

The phone rang while she was reading. It was Sister Mary.

“Oh hi sister, how are you? It’s been awhile.” Mom said.

Sister Mary had phoned to remind Mrs. Carlson about tomorrow. It was Bunny’s birthday and she was turning five years old. Mom had marked it on the calendar but she had forgotten.

“Well thank you for reminding me,” Mom said.

“How is Bunny getting along?” Sister Mary asked politely.

Mrs. Carlson replied, “She seems to have overcome her shyness, and everyone here gets along just fine with her.”

“That’s great to hear,” Sister Mary said.

Before hanging up mom said, “Why don’t you drop by? I’m sure she would love to see you.”

The answer came back, “I’ll really try but I’m busy here too.”

Right then the school bell rang and school was over until next September. The children came through the door.

“Hey, mom.” Danny said. Bunny followed behind him, with her pack.

“Guess who I just got off the phone with?” mom asked.

Other than Mrs. Paige or Dad they did not know. They just shrugged their shoulders and said “Who was it, mom?”

“That was a very good friend of ours,” Mom said.

They made their way to the couch and sat down. Mom said, “Do you know what tomorrow is, Danny?”

“No,” Danny responded.

“It’s your sister's birthday and she’s going to be five years old, like you.”

Although Danny would still be a few months older. But that never changed anything between them.

“Come on, mom ” Danny said.

“Really she’s a big girl now,” Mom said.

Bunny had had birthdays before and it too was different. Turning a year older in the orphanage was like any other day. Besides the other girls and the nuns wishing you a happy birthday there was no exchanging gifts or any presents of the sort. School was out, and it was her birthday. It could not have come at a better time. When mom told Bunny that there would be balloons, presents, cake, and so much more, she felt great. Even Danny was excited. Mom would tell dad and they would both start to prepare for tomorrow.

Later on that day while mom went out, dad wanted to talk to me about my birthday tomorrow. I was in my room playing.

“Excuse me, miss,” Dad said while standing at the doorway.

“Hi, daddy,” I answered back.

“Can I come in?” He asked.

I nodded my head yes, and stopped playing. Danny was playing in his own room. As dad came in he sat down on my bed.

“So my little princess is going to be five years old tomorrow?” He asked

"Yeah, I guess,” I said with a smile.

As I got up off the floor, I went to go sit beside daddy on my bed. He turned to me and put his arm on my shoulder. Then I said, “What is it daddy?”

He answered back, “Well, what do you get a princess for her birthday?”

Bunny thought, “That’s easy.” The first thing that came to her mind was a big shiny castle that reached high into the clouds. And of course beautiful, white unicorns to take her to far away places and back again when she wanted. Bunny jumped off the bed, and as she danced around the room, she said, “She has to be beautiful so she needs different color dresses, lots and lots of them.”

Daddy just watched Bunny in amazement. As daddy listened to Bunny a car pulled up into the driveway. Bunny heard the front door. It was mom, she had come home. Bunny raced out of her room and down the stairs to greet her with dad and Danny right behind her.

When I asked mom where she had gone, she said, “I was in a land where the unicorns run free and the mermaids swim in the water.”

I knew she was joking with me but it sounded great. I went along with it anyway and said, “Really?”

Right then dad said, “Why don’t you guys go play upstairs?”

They wanted to talk, I don’t know what about. I grabbed Danny’s hand and said “Come on.”

While Danny played with his toys, I sat on his bed. We talked about that land with the unicorns and the mermaids that mom had mentioned before. “Sounds boring,” Danny said. “Do you actually think there’s such a place?” Danny added.

“I don’t know,” I answered back. While we were trying to figure out if there was, mom and dad were getting ready for tomorrow.

“Did you order the cake with the unicorn on it?” Dad asked mom.

“It should be ready later,” she answered. Mom asked dad, “Did she tell you what she wants?”

Dad explained to mom what happened while she was gone. Mom was thinking, “Maybe we should get her involved in gymnastics too. Danny has soccer but she should do something as well,” Mom added.

Dad agreed with mom.

As bedtime came around the phone rang and mom answered it. It was the cake shop: the birthday cake was ready now. Mom asked Daddy if he would put us to sleep tonight. “Don’t forget their bedtime stories,” Mom said.

Dad would continue the story of Captain Screech and Alex. The boy who always wanted to grow up as a pirate and find a chest full of treasure. As the story continued dad would make silly sounds in certain parts of the story as a pirate does. It made the story a little more interesting and I liked it. Alex had now found the island where it is believed that Captain Screech hid his gold treasure. Alex’s crew was made up of his three friends: Andy was his first mate, and he helped the Captain; Billy was the gunner, he fired the canons; then there was Jesse, she was a warrior princess, who they picked up along the way. She was a great fighter and she fought with swords. His ship was called, The Drifter. It was life size. As they, all made their way onto the island and through the forest they all would have to find shelter before nightfall.

Bunny and Danny were intrigued now. They asked dad to finish the story.

“What happened next?” Bunny asked.

"Yeah, did they get lost?” Danny asked.

Dad responded, “No, I think he had a treasure map. Let’s see,” He added.

They came upon a cave, high up in a mountain. That would have to be a good place to spend the night but first they would have to reach it. The bravest of the four of them was Jesse. She had lived in a jungle before and she knew this area better than anyone here did. While the others stayed together, Jesse started climbing the mountain to the cave. Meanwhile, Captain Screech was coming home. As he approached the island, he found The Drifter sitting on the beach. He let out a great laugh, which came from his big belly. It echoed throughout the whole island. This caught our hero’s attention and it was time to take cover in the cave. From atop the mountain came, “All clear!” It was Jesse. Alex did not pause for a second, he ordered his crew to climb. “Go! Move!” He yelled as he pointed towards the rope hanging from the mountain. They all ran one by one. Captain Screech was getting closer. He was extremely mad because nobody makes a fool out of Captain Screech, never mind come to his island and steal his gold treasure. By this time Alex and everyone reached the inside of the cave safely.

As the captain arrived he found out where they were hiding. With his sword drawn he yelled aloud from below, “I will destroy you, kid!”

Alex did not give up that easily. He ordered Billy and Jesse to break away the boulders with their swords and guns. The boulders would crush the captain and his crew members below. As they did the captain let out a loud screech that echoed throughout the forest. They were all saved and as it turns out the treasure chest was beneath the rocks. That was the end of Captain Screech and the story.

Daddy said, “The End,” and closed the book.

We were tucked in and Daddy said “Okay mates, time to get some shut eye.”

“Goodnight daddy,” We said softly.

Tomorrow was a big day. When I wake up it would be my fifth birthday. While we were asleep and before mom and dad went to bed they had made sure that everything was ready for tomorrow.

I can honestly tell you, that day was very, very special to me. The castle, the unicorns and those colorful dresses I told daddy about: I received them all. My castle was a dollhouse and the gowns were just beautiful. The unicorns were on my cake. Even Sister Mary showed up. The very best thing about this occasion was my own family. Even now, after all this time, I understand that I was presented with a great opportunity and that this is where I belong after all.

Danny grew up to be a great soldier in the army, as he always wanted. I became a gymnastics teacher to make mom and dad proud.

The End
